The drum beats above are excerpts from my drum book.
This is a work in progress. Soon I will publish it through Amazon and I'll also
make a version for the Amazon Kindle. Any suggestions or critique you have are

Practice the drumset beats one measure at a time.
They are written as continuous pieces (there are no repeat signs). The
listening examples are also continuous. These are generic midi files for
reference (I apologize for the 80's drum machine sounds).
Before attempting an entire page of beats
non-stop, learn each one independently. Try to play each beat four times
through with no mistakes (since modern popular music is usually designed
in groups of four). I did not indicate any
stickings for the snare solos. If you are interested in how I play these

Hello.
My name is Kevin Dean. I am a
drummer, percussionist and drum instructor. I am a full time musician
seeking new drum students. I accept students of all ages, amateur and
professional. Beginners are more than welcome. I charge $20 per half
hour lesson and $40 per hour lesson. I teach at Subcat Music Studios in
Downtown Syracuse. I'm willing to drive to the student’s home (within
Onondaga County) for $50 per hour. I focus on reading, technique, meter (click track) and
